The game offers players a choice of three initial robots from the army they create. These characters must defend the central base. Combat in the game occurs in a turn-based manner. In Into the Breach, players are able to utilize 18 separate robots. Each one is capable of having varying combat stats, defensive abilities and fighting techniques.
