Lanota's story begins with a terrifying event called Al Niente, which causes all sounds and colors on the planet to disappear. This is not necessarily the end, however; the world instead recovers from the disaster by liberating Notalium. This allows people to return everything they once had. The Notalium energy source was originally created by ancient cultures. However, they were unable to create anything more due to the nature of their creation. Since then, Notalium has been used to preserve sounds and colors. It's also been unstable for some time before our main characters are called to stabilize it. This stabilization effort will ultimately lead to the salvation of the world.
