You can use the third rank of Hook to pull any enemy stuck in a trap forward and into the pit, or swap them with you if the trap is behind you. Using this jump option, you can move to any location in 33 surrounding squares. The next time you use the Batswing gadget, its associated shakes will overlap one another in a continual fashion.
